Jean Stack - Trainer/Owner Animals have always been a part of my life, especially dogs. My mom bred and raised Dachshunds – I slept every night with a “doxie” on the foot of my bed. We also had many other breeds in our family, including: English Shepherd, Irish Wolfhound, Terriers, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Golden Retriever and Heinz 57. All of our dogs were a part of our family.
Wonderful stories that my Mom told me about her German Shepherd, Pete, planted a desire deep in my heart for a Shepherd. After many years and rescues of much loved mix-breed dogs, 16 years ago a GSD puppy in need of a family came into my life. Her name was Zoe and she was sent to teach me many lessons about dogs, dog training and the world of competition. Zoe and I started our training journey at Azalea Dog Training Club in Hampstead, NC. If ADTC is a convenient location for your training, I highly recommend this group of caring, expert trainers – you and your best friend could not be in a better place.
I spent 6 years volunteering at a training facility in Carteret County, NC teaching and assisting with a variety of classes. My mentor was an excellent teacher and trainer and I learned much from all of the trainers in this group. I was fortunate to be able to introduce Rally Obedience classes at the facility due to my previous training and competition experience in this venue. I have experience training puppies, basic obedience, manners for the family dog, rally obedience and competition obedience. I have been an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator since 2012; and a member of the American Professional Pet Dog Training Association (APDT).
